ANNA's accredited approver unit, known as the Continuing Education Approval Board (CEAB), is a standing committee of the Association. CEAB reviews applications for continuing nursing education (CNE) and must adhere to the policies, procedures, and CNE criteria of the accrediting body, American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation (ANCC-COA).
ANCC mandates that specific criteria must be met before the CEAB is able to grant CNE approval for any nursing educational activity.
Due to the extensive review/correction process, it is very important to submit your application for review at least 45 calendar days prior to the event date to be considered an “on time” application. Any requests received 30-44 calendar days prior to the event date will be subject to a late fee (3x the original fee). Applications received 29 or fewer calendar days before the activity start date will not be accepted.
Please note that all submitted applications must meet two requirements:
- They must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event.
- The application must be complete upon submission.
Applications that are not complete when submitted will not be accepted for review until they are complete. Incomplete applications that still have outstanding requirements after Day 30 will not be considered for review.
You can expedite the review/correction process by carefully reviewing and following the CEAB Guidelines for Continuing Education Approval, A Manual for Providers when completing your application forms.
Please refer to the application checklist to determine if your application is complete. The application checklist can be found on the last page of the application form.
Meeting the requirements of ANCC can be a rigorous process. As always, CEAB is here to provide assistance to you to gain acceptance of your application and provision of CNEs for your education programs.
