Dialysis Clinic, Inc. (DCI) was founded by nephrologist Dr. H. Keith Johnson in 1971. Dr. Johnson is still at the helm overseeing the nation’s largest non-profit dialysis provider. DCI has grown to over 230 outpatient dialysis clinics in 28 states, serving over 14,000 patients and employs nearly 5,000 talented employees. DCI offers a variety of services including in-center hemodialysis, in-center self-care hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and inpatient dialysis services in hospitals across the United States. DCI has expanded to offer chronic kidney disease education and care coordination through the Reach Kidney Care program. As part of DCI’s commitment to the patient, DCI founded DCI Donor Services, a family of tissue, eye, and organ procurement organizations. DCI operates Camp Okawehna, a camp for kids with kidney disease as part of its mission to give back. Since inception, DCI has contributed over 200 million dollars to research and education initiatives to improve the care of the renal patient. Employees at DCI live the mission, “We are a non-profit service organization. The care of the patient is our reason for existence.” Evidence of each employee’s commitment to the patient is seen in the USRDS results. DCI has been recognized by the USRDS for the past 12 years as having the lowest hospitalization and mortality ratios among large dialysis providers. Learn more at: www.dciinc.org
