Medical professionals have long been aware of the risk of Venous Needle Dislodgement during hemodialysis it can happen to any patient, any facility, any nurse. The Redsense blood detecting device was developed in response to their demands.
The Redsense device uses advanced technology in an easy to use application in order to detect blood loss during hemodialysis. Redsense consists of two parts, an Alarm Unit and a fiber optical Sensor embedded in an adhesive patch. The Alarm Unit transits infrared light through the optical fiber. In the event of bleeding, when blood comes onto the fiber optical bend the Alarm Unit will sound an alarm.
