Nursing Community Coalition Requests Senate Support for United States Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act of 2019
The Nursing Community Coalition urges the Senate to support the United States Cadet Nurse Corps Service Recognition Act of 2019 (S. 997), recognizes the nurses who served as members of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during World War II and provides them with honorable discharges, medal privileges, and burial benefits for cemeteries administered under the Department of Veterans Affairs. During the Year of the Nurse and the Midwife in 2020, it is vital not only to recognize the nurses currently helping patients every day, but also to honor the nurses who laid the foundation of the profession.
