Strategic Account Manager, Alio

Job Position and Professional Responsibilities:

In my role as a Strategic Account Manager at Alio, I am dedicated to advancing nephrology healthcare through innovation. My primary responsibilities include developing comprehensive clinical materials, training clinicians on cutting-edge technology, collaborating closely with the research and development team, and overseeing the launch of new products and product updates. I am passionate about integrating new technology to enhance clinical processes and achieve superior patient outcomes and experiences. By introducing innovative solutions, I strive to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery and patient care.

Describe your qualifications for this role, and include past ANNA leadership positions:

As a Master's-prepared and certified nephrology professional with over two decades of experience in the renal field, I bring a diverse array of unique skills and experiences, making me well-suited to serve the ANNA community. My career journey has encompassed:

a. Overseeing business and financial operations for 11 chronic dialysis facilities as an Operations Manager/Director.
b. Leading program expansion, ensuring quality of care and management as a Home Program Manager.
c. Driving product design and pilot programs as a Principal of Clinical Innovation Initiatives.
d. Contributing as a published author and co-author of articles and chapters for the Nephrology Nursing Journal (NNJ), Contemporary Nephrology Nursing and Core Curriculum in Nephrology Nursing books.
e. Managing projects and delivering clinical education in medical devices as a Strategic Account Manager.

Additionally, my extensive involvement with the American Nephrology Nurses Association (ANNA) has further enriched my professional journey. At the local level, I have served as a Chapter President, where I led initiatives to support our members and promote excellence in nephrology nursing. On the national stage, my roles have included serving as a National Board Director and as the Chair of the Specialty Practice Network (SPN). These experiences have fueled my commitment to fostering professional growth and improving patient care in the nephrology community.

Describe your role in three ANNA projects/activities which support(ed) ANNA’s mission, goals, and objectives:

Education:

I perceive myself as a lifelong learner who enjoys the opportunity to share knowledge. Throughout my journey, I have gained satisfaction from mentoring young professionals embarking on their nephrology careers. During my tenure as the Specialty Practice Network (SPN) Administrative Lead, I guided a newcomer. Today, this individual stands out as a prominent ANNA leader, flourishing beyond expectations. It is gratifying to witness such growth and accomplishment, reinforcing my belief in mentorship and the transformative impact it can have on individuals and our professional community.

Networking:

Networking comes naturally to me, and ANNA provides the perfect setting for it. As a National Director, I spend a portion of my time networking. Recently, I recruited two dozen vendors for an ANNA national conference. This means members will have increased exposure to a diverse range of medications and devices for their patients, enhancing their ability to deliver optimal care.

Advocacy:

Advocating for patients and clinical peers is crucial in the healthcare setting. Since serving as a National Director, I have become more engaged in ANNA Health Policy initiatives by submitting letters to local representatives on the last 8 action items posted. I also recruited a Health Policy Officer for our local chapter and advocated for her to attend the Health Policy Workshop in Washington DC.
